Closure Devices Added To Pedestrian Gates

In late 2025 the Board approved the replacement of the gate closure devices (hinge springs) on the front pedestrian gate, the two pedestrian gates along Randy Riley in the Gated Section and the pedestrian gate adjacent to the Gated Section entry.  That work has been completed. In addition, the combination locks have also been lubricated and recoded.  These may not be working as well as they should so please remember to give the gate a tug when you pass through and remind the youngsters to do the same.  Once the fence work is underway, those new hinge springs will be installed on the new lighter gates with new hinges.  Our old gates are heavy steel and the hinges are poorly constructed and well worn.  Our expensive new hinge springs should work well with the new hinges and lighter gates.
